Bellator 179 Hits London This Friday Night – The number two MMA company behind the UFC is in London this Friday night for Bellator 179 and the main event sees former UFC contender Rory MacDonald face Britain’s own Paul “Semtex” Daley in a three round welterweight fight.

Paul Daley is the attraction here which is why the matchmaking is puzzling. Daley is the British version of Melvin Guillard, which means he is hard hitting and can be a crowd pleaser but he is undisciplined who will never fix the holes in his game.

Which is what makes the robotic former UFC contender MacDonald such a dangerous opponent for Daley. MacDonald left the UFC on a two fight losing streak but he is still big and physical and one of the more complete MMA fighters on the planet. At 27 years old he is probably just entering his prime. MacDonald has been just an MMA fighter his whole life and now beyond the UFC and the big leagues you can look for him to come in focused to score his first Bellator win.

As for Daley, he is probably enjoying the moment and with over 50 MMA fights under his belt he deserves his time in the spotlight. But if he is going to look to fight MacDonald on instinct he is going to find that MacDonald will be executing a game plan tailor made for him. That is what MacDonald does.
