Kings Visit Westbrook and The Thunder on Saturday – The 27-41 Sacramento Kings are on a mini two game winning streak as they head into Oklahoma City to play the 29-29 Thunder, who are on a four game winning streak of their own.
The Thunder have a pretty good bunch of role players around Russell Westbrook, who is looking at averaging a triple double. He is coming off his 34th trifeca on Thursday against the Toronto Raptors. This late in the season Westbrook is “must watch” as he pursues Oscar Robertson’s seasonal marks. The Thursday win allowed the Thunder to sneak past the Memphis Grizzlies into the sixth seed and the number 5 seeded Clippers are just a half a game ahead of them. The Thunder follow Westbrook and he doesn’t appear to have any letdown in him and he is looking to close the year out strong. A 5 seed means playing the Utah Jazz, who will have much less playoff experience than the Thunder heading into that showdown.
Meanwhile Buddy Hield is finding that all the dysfunction in Sacramento did not depart with Demarcus Cousins. Their current two game winning streak saw them snap an eight game slide that hit them immediately after trading Cousins. The Kings are lottery bound but they are getting good looks at Hield, Skal Labissiere and other young pieces. Unfortunately the front office led by GM Vlad Divac are not very well respected and owner Vivek Randive is morphing into this sport’s George Steinbrenner.

The Thunder need the win more and they are at home. A three game winning streak for the Kings would be something to write home about.
