NBA Western Conference Playoff Odds For Sunday Openers – The final two Western Conference playoff series get started on Sunday as the Trailblazers head to Oakland to play the Golden State Warriors and the OKC Thunder visit the Houston Rockets.

And so it begins for the Golden State Warriors. Portland’s TJ McCollum and Damian Lilliard were joined by big man Jusuf Nurkic to chase down the eighth playoff spot. Nurkic averaged 15.2 pts 10.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game since being traded to Portland from Denver and he gave the team the boost it needed. That should all come to a halt against the Warriors who are focused on hoisting the trophy at the end of the year. The Blazers do not like the Warriors and the pair of teams have played a few knock down drag out high scoring games but the Blazers real hops lie ibn the future with added development for Nurkic and company.

The Rockets and James Harden vs the Thunder and Russell Westbrook. Expect the NBA to play up the match-up between two of the league’s MVP candidates. The two explosive guards are expected to lead their respective teams in shoot outs as neither squad is defined by it’s defensive prowess. It is not a surprise that this match-up has the highest over/under for total score of any other first round match-up.
