NBA Western Conference Playoff Saturday Odds – A pair of games out west kick off the playoffs this Saturday. The #2 seeded San Antonio Spurs host the grinding #7 Memphis Grizzlies while the #4 seeded Los Angeles Clippers host the #5 seeded Utah Jazz.

The Spurs finished with the second best record in the NBA but they went just 2-2 in four meetings with the Grizzlies.Coach Greg Popovich has adapted his team to the post Tim Duncan era as Kawhi Leonard has developed into a legitimate MVP candidate. Power forward Lamarcus Aldridge struggled at times last year in his first season as a Spur but he appears to fit in as well. The Grizzlies signed Chandler Parsons as their big off-season acquisition to add punch to their offense but Parsons has been a bust.

The Utah Jazz have arrived in the playoffs and it will be intriguing to see what this young and talented team can do. The Jazz did go 1-3 against the veteran Clipper squad and the difference in experience is amplified in a playoff atmosphere. The Clippers started out hot this year but the injury bug hit stars Blake Griffin and Chris Paul and they ended the season hanging on to the number four seed. For the Jazz it is about drinking up the playoff experience because they are looking to keep growing their young talent over the next few years. If the Clippers arenot primed the Jazz might look to pack second round experience into this year’s agenda.
