Nuggets Visit Pelicans in Tuesday NBA Action – The two teams that will likely end 9th and 10th in the eight playoff team race square off on Tuesday as the 36-40 Denver Nuggets head to New Orleans to face the 33-44 Pelicans.

The Nuggets had dropped five of seven before last Friday’s 115-113 win over the Miami Heat. Meanwhile the Pelicans were in a spell that saw them win 6 of eight games before they took a loss in their last outing, 117-110 to Chicago.

The Nuggets have yet to pull the trigger on a rebuild and they appear to have shipped off a potentially talented piece in Jusuf Nurkic. At this point the game is nearly meaningless to them.

But the Pelicans have next season to play for. They now know they will enter the 2017-2018 campaign with this era’s twin towers in Demarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis. The pair has alternated games of 30 or more points and the team is starting to how how hard it might be to handle the two big men. Though they don’t have enough games left on the schedule to make the playoffs it behooves Nola to play well until the end of the season. The Nuggets must feel like half the roster is going to be on another team come next year.
