Suns Visit Hot Trailblazers Saturday NBA – The 37-38 Portland Trailblazers host the 22-54 Phoenix Suns as they are two games up for the 8th seed in the western playoff hunt. Portland has won five in a row and the February trade for 22 year old Bosnian Beast Jusuf Nurkic has been a catalyst for them reaching the playoffs.
Since joining Portland, Nukic has averaged close to 16 points and 11 boards a game. With gunners CJ McCollum and Damian Lilliard in the back court the gigantic Nurkic has found room to operate and the inside presence was what the Blazers lacked in the season’s early going. The Blazers are going to have to keep developing the chemistry. At this point late in the season they are not going to catch the seventh seeded Memphis Grizzlies which means they are destined for a first round date with the Golden State Warriors.
Meanwhile. The Suns have to be hoping for the best position possible in upcoming college draft and they are taking a look at the pieces that they have. Phoenix second year man Devin Booker scored 70 points in Boston in a 130-120 loss to the Celtics and that likely means Phoenix wont be looking for a shooting guard come July when the draft goes down.
