Final Four Odds Monday Title Game – March has gone off into history and so ends one more NCAA Tournament and “March Madness.”
IN the end, it will be the 37-1, #1 seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs taking on the 32-7 North Carolina Tar Heels for the College Basketball National championship. The Gonzaga Bulldogs got here by doing away with the pesky, #7 ranked cinderella-fueled South Carolina team while the Tar Heels barely got by the #4 seeded Oregon Ducks 77-76.
Head coach Roy Williams and the North Carolina Tar Heels are going to enter the game a slight underdog if the line stays around where it is now. The program has won titles as recently as 2005 and 2009 and though obviously none of the players are the same ther eis something to be said for pedigree at times like this.
The Zags don’t give a hoot about pedigree however. The cruised all year through what many people have called a light schedule and they arrived in the field of 64 a #1 seed. That but a bills-eye on their backs but they have fought their way to the desert and to the NCAA’s final game. Needless to say both are firsts for the Gonzaga program.
So it comes down to this for the NCAA’s final game of 2017. Will Gonzaga break through and carve their name in history as tournament champions, going an astoundingly good 38-1 in doing so?Could it be the start of something new?
