March Madness First Round Day 2 Greensville – Day two of college basketball’s championship tournament gets underway Friday. Greensville, South Carolina sees four games go down at the Bon Secours Arena, and a pair of powerhouses from just north are on the plate as buth Duke and North Carolina hit the court.
The Tar Heels and the Blue Devils won’t meet in South Carolina but today is a good day to watch the #1 and #2 seeds play. Tiny Troy is still harboring dreams and hopes of taking out Duke but face it, it is unlikely to happen. Duke probably owns the highest odds to win it all for any team that is not a one seed and many would take them over Gonzaga. They have two wins over #1 seed North Carolina who will be busy crushing the dreams of Texas Southern.
A pair of competitive games are expected as home state South Carolina plays Marquette and Seton Hall squares off against Arkansas. Carolina and Marquette are playing for the honor of facing Duke in the second round. Marquette stumbled into the tournament going 5-5 over their last 10 games and they made it in largely on the strength of an early season win against Villanova. Arkansas versus Seton Hall figures to be a hard played game but it bears noting that Arkansas has been playing better basketball here at the close of the year.
