Michigan Faces Louisville in RD 2 Action – The number two seeded Louisville Cardinals pay the #7 Michigan Wolverines in second round action slated for Indianapolis on Sunday. Michigan slugged it out with Oklahoma State in the first round to emerge with a tight 92-90 victory while the Cardinals cruised over Jacksonville State 78-63.
Against Oklahoma State, the Wolverines were bombs away as they hit a season high 16 three pointers to stay in the game and eventually pull it off. Michigan point guard Derrick Walton Jr will hope to lead a team whose shooting remains hot. The Wolverines have been playing their best basketball towards the end of the season and are on of the hotter teams int he tourney right now.
Louisville is going to come at Michigan with defense. Rick Pitino’s team has not been playing their best basketball here at the end f the season but then again the tournament is what a program like Louisville is built for.
Once you get into the pressure cooker of the tournament the games sometimes tend to favor the defensive teams that slow the ball down. Though Michigan has the legs and the hot shooting to make this a rough contest for the Cardinal, you can expect the Louisville squad to slow the pace of the game dwn and look to bruise and bang with Michigan.
