Arkansas Razorbacks cheerleaders ‘Black Friday’ offers an attractive slate of college football games. Here’s a couple of underdogs that I like. I’ll be back with more college football for Saturday and NFL action for Sunday.

IOWA AT NEBRASKA NOVEMBER 25, 2011 9:00 AM PACIFIC

The conventional wisdom for years is that Nebraska routinely dominated the line of scrimmage—and particularly on defense. There’s now some thinking that reputation was more a function of the physically ‘soft’ play in the Big 12 and not so much the Cornhuskers’ intrinsic superiority along the offensive and defensive line. In any case, they’ve been a horrendous pointspread investment this year going 3-7 ATS overall, 1-5 ATS at home and 2-4 ATS in conference. In all fairness, Iowa hasn’t been much of a pointspread play either but in my view they’ll be competitive with Nebraska ‘in the trenches’ and have enough offense to keep this one close if not pull the outright upset.

ARKANSAS AT LSU NOVEMBER 25, 2011 11:30 AM PACIFIC

Nothing but respect for this LSU team—in fact, in my opinion they’re the best team in college football. That being said, the price on this game doesn’t accurately reflect just how good the University of Arkansas team is. Arkansas may have more offensive weapons than any team LSU has faced this year and will stretch the field against the Bayou Bengals—something that most of their SEC foes simply don’t have the personnel to attempt. The Razorbacks have covered all three games in this series under Bobby Petrino and have a good shot at making it four in a row. Arkansas has been a team that gets better as the year progresses under Petrino—in fact they’ll enter this contest 11-0 ATS in November since 2009. I’m not expecting an outright upset of LSU, but Arkansas will make it interesting and stay within this number.
