Online Gambling forums betting Sanjaya will win American IdolOnline Gambling forums betting Sanjaya will win American Idol

written April 15, 2007

I know that it sounds preposterous but many Internet gambling posting forums are filled with Americans pointing out the reasons why they believe Sanjaya Malaker will actually win American Idol.

"Sanjaya is making this incredibly dull season somewhat worth watching. I can't recall a less enjoyable season. So for that reason alone, I hope he wins. None of the other contestants are that good except for Melinda..and she is quite boring truth be told. Plus, if Melinda was voted off next week, she would have a contract the next day. So, who cares if she wins or not? And trust me, nobody would actually buy a Blake album. He's entertaining on stage but he's not studio material by any means. "

Another Internet American Idol fan recently had the following to say:

"Every girl I talk to loves Blake and wants him to win over Melinda. I do wonder what sort of demographic is voting for Melinda. I'm really starting to believe Blake could beat Melinda... he may be a great buy at current prices.

I'm still making a decision whether to sell Melinda right now and lock in my profit. I will kick myself later if country week is even half as bad as I think it will be.

Also I really think Sanjaya is at his peak here. I don't have the funds to short him and all my stock on Sanjaya is at Pinnacle Sports... so I'll just have to bite the bullet on that one and hope he wins.

I don't know how I feel about Jordin. There are weeks when I see her winning but then I remember that age is a huge barrier on idol... youngins have a HUGE disadvantage. I knew she would make it this far but I see her going out in the Paris Bennett spot.

I've made up my mind that Phil is gone next week. At first I thought he and Chris were about even, but Phil's just been in the bottom 3 too many times. I got Phil to be booted at +160, I'm almost certain he should be at negative odds.

I think it's pretty safe to say Chris will be in the bottom 3 as well as Phil. In fact, I'd say it's >90% probable. But whomever rounds out the bottom 3 will definitely be a telling fact. If it's Lakisha, as many suspect, then that means her time is almost up... 2, 3 more weeks tops. But if it's anyone else, I would expect Kisha's stock to soar. I'm buying a little of Kisha to gamble on this happening, since she's been 'predicted' to be b3/booted for at least 2 weeks now, maybe more, and her position on the show really hasn't decreased.

If I had to guess, I'd assume Kisha performs first next week and Phil is 2nd or 3rd."

Also, there are some who believe Sanjaya has deliberately been holding back on performing at a higher standard:

"My theory: Malakar is sandbagging and now ready to show his stuff!  I thought his tryout was amongst the best. He is the smartest competitor left in this thing. He is straight hustling America! "

And finally, one final poster suggested the following to make certain Sanjaya wins:

"We need to start a movement across the country to get all State and Federal Prisoners on the Sanjaya wagon. I mean if we get their votes how can Sanjaya possibly lose? Also what about crack heads, the homeless, every single illegal in the country, and anyone and everyone who hates America to vote for Sanjaya, then how can he lose?"

Could a vote for Sanjaya be compared to a vote against President Bush?

If so, he may really have a good shot at winning this thing.
