World Series of Poker: Poker Pros Jockey For Position In $50,000 Horse EventWorld Series of Poker: Poker Pros Jockey For Position In $50,000 Horse Event

June 26, 2007

The $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. event is done for the night and the players are headed back to their respective lodgings looking to get some rest for another brutal day tomorrow. With the most concentrated pool of talent in any event at the 2007 WSOP, this event has been a ridiculous showcase of skill and poker prowess.

Rode hard and put up wet, Team Bodog poker pros Justin "ZeeJustin" Bonomo and David Williams are headed to their "stables" for the night, Justin in 6th and DW in 35th. It was an up and down day for the both of them as they had huge swings in their chip stacks. DW proved why he is considered one of the best in the game and Justin is continuing to prove himself in live tournaments after dominating online for so many years.

Just to show how difficult this event is, lets take a look at the Justin and DW's tables. At the end of the night, Justin was sitting at a table with John Hennigan, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Scotty Nguyen, Eli Elezra and Huck Seed. Just for the record, that's 27 WSOP bracelets at one table, with countless other accolades. DW spent the evening looking at Allen Cunningham, Daniel Negreanu, Freddy Deeb, Erik Seidel and Tim Phan. All told, that's 17 WSOP bracelets at his table, including his own. Yeah, need we say more? And it was like that at the other tables too.

The players will redraw for new tables and seats to start Day 3. There are 52 players remaining in this five-day event and play will resume tomorrow at 2pm PDT.

In other poker news:

We sometimes forget that the poker pavilion exists because we usually try to ignore it. Therefore, we sometimes forget that there are other events going on out there. So, it follows that we would totally space that Alan "BodogAri" Engel was playing in the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha Hi Lo event out in the tent today. He's no longer playing out there, but we'll definitely catch him the next go round and keep you up to date on his, and all the Team Bodog members', progress live from the 2007 World Series of Poker.
