Online Gambling: NFL Hall of Fame Game Had Controversial Ending
Although Sunday Night's NFL Hall of Fame NFL Game between the Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills has ended with a final score of Tennessee 21, Buffalo 18, many sports bettors are still talking about the final play.
Many online sportsbooks closed with Tennessee being installed as a 3 point favorite. And with Tennessee leading by five points, 21-16, the Titans took a safety on the last play from scrimmage in order to run out the clock.
Here's what one of our posters, namely shoebox had to say in response to the final play:
"Certainly last nights ending was a bad beat for Tennessee backers but the posts on this site are downright ignorant!
Now I know some are just mad and rambling, but I get the sense that others are serious. Talking about a fixed game is comical, lol!
This is a preseason game, you can rule out a fix guys, please. I saw another comment about a guy saying that the punter could have took a knee at the 1 or pooched it out of bounds from the 1?????????????
Why in the world would he do that?? Risk a disaster?? The safety means nothing to them.
Taking the safety in that spot was the best move a coach can make to protect the win, like some other poster said, its the right move that most coaches wont make, for whatever reason, but you take away the blocked punt, the punt return or even a last play hail Mary show.
The game is over, and there is no need to sweat anything. Had the spread been, say, -1 or -7, not a single person would say it was a bad move, but since it affected the spread all hell breaks lose.
Don't get me wrong here, I will be the 1st to scream to high hell over a bad beat and a f#cked up ending but when the coach makes the right move, just take the beat and move on. Also, Tennessee -2.5 was available during the week.
The last point I want to make was I don't think Tennessee was the stone cold right side either. It can be argued that either team could have won that game and their were botched plays all over the place Sunday night.
TENN scores on a fake punt, where the punter goes 40 yards untouched for a TD, Buff throws an INT on the 7 yard line going in on their 1st drive, got stopped on 4th and 1 from the 5 on their 2nd drive, also kicked a FG from the 2 yard line after getting stopped on 2nd and 1, then 3rd and 1.
The total yards were even. Buffalo had 1 more turnover and the game landed 3. This was hardly Tennessee domination in the game.
Just my rambling 2 cents after watching the 1st Football game of the year and then reading the reactions to the ending."
