Michael Jackson Will Surfaces Joe Jackson Omitted Katherine Jackson Included
written June 30, 2009
In 2002, Michael Jackson signed a will that in the event of his death all of his riches would be left to his children, his mother Katherine Jackson, and one or more charities. His father Joe Jackson is to receive nothing according to the Wall Street Journal.
The will is to be filed by John Branca within 30 days of the singer's death. Jackson's estate is estimated at $1 billion. Jackson stated during his childhood his father beat him. This is the reasoning for him being left out of Jackson's will.
The Jackson family does not have a copy of the will, there is no knowledge of how many wills that Jackson had produced over his lifetime however, the will John Branca will be filing with the court is believed to be the most current.
Branca and Jackson have a history together dating as far back as 1985 when Branca brokered a deal for Jackson to purchase "The Beatles" publishing catalogue.
Michael Jackson and John Branca parted ways in 2006, but Jackson re-hired Branca three weeks before his death.
