Mel Gibson Update - Patrick Swayze Joins Jody Foster To Defend Him
August 6, 2006
Patrick Swayze just joined Jodie Foster and other of Mel's friends to defend their fellow comerade for blaming Jews as responsible for all the wars in the history of the world in a drunken tirade of his last week.
Swayze, 53, defended his friend's drunken outburst, telling GMTV that "people say stupid things when they happen to have a few, and especially if you don't drink any more, or have limited your drinking for a long time and all of a sudden you decide to have one too many with the boys - you are stupid."
He continued on by saying that movie stars live under far more scrutiny than others do because they are public figures.
He doesn't think this will mark the end of Mel Gibson's career either.
"When you are a pit bull, and you love what you do and you are going to continue to grow, that talent will find its way out," Swayze said.
"Talent deserves to be honored. Hands deserve to be slapped if you do something stupid as well, but don't take it too far."
"Gibson is "a wonderful human being. He is not anti-Semitic."
So, is Mel Gibson responsible for what he said?
Many believe, and rightfully so, that he is.
