Gwen Stefani boycotting MTV Video Music Awards
written August 31, 2006
Gwen Stefani has pulled out of the MTV Video Music Awards - because she failed to win any top prizes last year.
The 'Hollerback Girl' singer is reportedly "boycotting" today's prestigious event (31.08.06) after losing out on a host of awards in 2005 she was confident she would win.
A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Gwen had a ton of nominations and was under the impression that she would be taking home at least one award. But every award, except for that lame best-dressed award, went to Kelly Clarkson."
Gwen - who had her first son Kingston with husband Gavin Rossdale in May - is said to have felt "set up" by the producers last year, because they focused their cameras on her every time she failed to win an award.
The source added: "Every time Kelly won, the camera went straight to Gwen.
She felt set up."
'Nacho Libre' star Jack Black is hosting this year's ceremony, which will be aired live from New York's City Music Hall.

A galaxy of music stars have been confirmed to perform, including Beyoncé Knowles, Justin Timberlake, The Killers and Jack White's new band The Raconteurs.
