The Baltimore Orioles (45-38) and Los Angeles Angels (46-38) will continue a four-game American League series on Saturday night at Angel Stadium, with the first pitch scheduled for 10:05 ET

Baltimore Orioles at Los Angeles Angels

Los Angeles Angels SP Jered Weaver is perfect at Angel Stadium this year

Baltimore is 2-5 versus Los Angeles during the 2012 season, but one of those victories came Friday night.  The Orioles are just 7-10 against AL West opponents this year, while losing eight of the last nine season series against the Angels.  It’s still important to note that the club is 8-12 in its last 20 road games, which is far different than its 15-6 mark to start the year away from Camden Yards.  Baltimore is 8-5 as a road underdog of +150 to +175, with the “under” going 9-4 in that situation.

Orioles starting pitcher Jason Hammel (8-4, 3.43 ERA) has lost his last two outings, including a 6-3 road defeat to the Seattle Mariners last time out, allowing four runs and seven hits in 6.2 innings of work.  The right-hander is 4-3 wit ha 3.36 ERA in nine road outings, striking out 59 batters in 56.1 combined frames.  In three career games (two starts) versus the Angels, Hammel has tallied an 0-2 record and 9.00 ERA, including a 13-1 home loss on June 27.

Los Angeles has cooled off a bit, dropping five of its last eight games, but the club has won nine of its 13 Saturday games.  The Angels continue to get major production out of outfielders Mike Trout and Mark Trumbo, as they both homered in Friday night’s contest.    Trout is batting .415 with five home runs and seven stolen bases in his last 16 games.  Los Angeles s 10-6 as a home favorite of -150 to -175, with the “under” going 11-4 in those contests.

Angels starting pitcher Jered Weaver (9-1, 2.13 ERA) has led the club to six consecutive wins, including a 3-0 road win over the Cleveland Indians last time out, surrendering five hits and tossing seven shutout innings.  The right-hander is 5-0 with a 0.70 ERA in six home starts, issuing just four walks and striking out 33 batters in 38.2 frames.  In eight career starts versus the Orioles, Weaver has gone 5-3 with a 3.17 ERA, including a 13-1 road victory on June 27.

Bettors will likely back the Angels due to their 6-0 record in Weaver’s last six starts as a favorite of -151 to -200, while the Orioles are 2-6 in their last eight games as an underdog.

Pick:  Los Angeles Angels -167
