NBA News: Clippers reach verbal agreement with Baron Davis

The Los Angeles Clippers have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with point guard Baron Davis on a deal in the range of five years and $65 million.

The Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday that Davis' agent, Todd Ramasar, confirmed that his client has agreed to sign with the Clippers. No deal can be signed until July 9, when the salary cap for next season is determined.

Golden State Warriors point guard Baron Davis has reportedly opted out of his contract with the team, leaving $17.8 million on the table and choosing to become an unrestricted free agent.

The Oakland Tribune reported that just before a midnight (et) deadline, Davis chose to get out of the final season of his six-year contract with the Warriors.

Fernando Torres scored in the 33rd minute to help Spain end a 44-year title drought with a 1-0 win over Germany in the final of Euro 2008 on Sunday.

Spain's last major title came in 1964, when they beat the Soviet Union 2-1 for the European championship, but after many early exits and disappointing finishes, Spain can finally lift another major trophy.

Jered Weaver and Jose Arredondo combined to no-hit the Los Angeles Dodgers over eight innings, but a pair of errors still led to an incredible 1-0 Angels loss in the second of three games at Dodger Stadium.

Since the Dodgers did not bat in the bottom of the ninth inning, under Major League Baseball records the game will not count as an official no-hitter. It was the fifth time in modern MLB history that a team won without recording a hit.

Sidney Ponson was brilliant on the mound in his return to the Yankees, and they went on to crush the Mets, 9-0, to earn a split of their day-night, two-stadium doubleheader.In the first game, Carlos Delgado broke out of his slump by setting a club record with nine RBI, including a grand slam, to lead the Mets to a 15-6 drubbing at Yankee Stadium.
