Falcons Host Packers in NFC Title Game – The Green Bay Packers come off a nail-biter win against the @1 seeded Dallas Cowboys in Dallas while the Atlanta Falcons will play host after dispatching the pesky Seattle Seahawks. The Pack and the Falcons locked horns during the regular season, on October 30th and the Falcons beat the Packers 33-32 in that one. Look for the ball to be flying in Atlanta again this weekend.

Falcon QB Matt Ryan is a leading MVP candidate, netting 4,944 yards through the air for 38 TDs and just 7 interceptions. His lead rival for the award may be Packer QB Aaron Rodgers, who tossed 4,428 yards with 40 TDs and just 7 interceptions.

Ryan is going to be asked to step up this week and do something he has not done before for Atlanta, and that is lead them to the Super Bowl. The bottom line is that the three other QBs left in the playoffs this year are all winners of  Super Bowls. Their was something almost nonchalant about the way the Packers shrugged off the pressure of playing the Cowboys on the road last week, and it was embodied by their kicker Mason Crosby, who without missing a beat hit the game winning field goal with no time remaining twice, making the second attempt good after Dallas called a time out trying to ice him. Rodgers had that same coolant for blood throughout the game, while the emotional rookie QB for Dallas couldn’t even bear to look at the game at times.

The falcons did beat a former Super Bowl Champion QB last week in Russell Wilson, but at this point in time Rodgers and the Packers are at another level. The pressure for this game is all on Ran and the Falcons.
