KANSAS CITY CHIEFS AT GREEN BAY PACKERS 5:00 PM PACIFIC
Sure, the Packers won’t be playing their starters much (if at all) but the Chiefs’ preseason ATS record under Todd Haley makes the Indianapolis Colts’ look good by comparison—KC is 1-10 SU/0-10-1 ATS in preseason play under Haley. Not that Kansas City’s preseason struggles are anything new—dating back to 1993 the Chiefs are 26-49 ATS in exhibition play including 13-28 ATS as a dog. Hard to see why they’d all of a sudden want to ‘make a statement’ in a meaningless game and even if they did remember they’ll be doing it with Ricky Stanzi and Tyler Palko. By comparison, the Packers’ Matt Flynn and Graham Harrell look like Pro Bowlers.

ST. LOUIS RAMS AT JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS 4:30 PM PACIFIC
The Rams’ defense could be the most improved unit in the NFL this season and in preseason play they’ve looked excellent, allowing an average of 12 PPG. For that reason, head coach Steve Spagnuolo wants to keep this momentum going and will be playing the starting defense for at least the first half. That’s bad news for a Jacksonville offense that’s looked pretty bad this year, even with starter David Garrard under center. Garrard may see some playing time here, but most of the work will go to presumptive #2 on the depth chart Blaine Gabbert. Sam Bradford may see some action for St. Louis. Rams are 9-2 SU/8-3 ATS in preseason play under Spagnuolo.
