Seahawks Visit Falcons – The Seattle Seahawks took out the reeling Detroit Lions 26-6 last week in the wildcard round of the playoffs, and this week sees them heading to Atlanta to face the 11-5, NFC South champion Falcons who rested last week.
The Seahawks will be throwing their defense at the Falcons, who are led by QB Matt Ryan. Ryan is a top contender to take home this year’s MVP trophy, as he threw for almost 5,000 yards with 37 touchdown passes. Ryan, who has been inconsistent in the past, was solid week in and week out for the Falcons and the home team will be counting on their QB heavily against Seattle’s vaunted defense. That defense took a hit late in the season when they lost safety Earl Thomas.
Seahawk QB Russell Wilson will try to keep the ‘Hawks close in a shootout, and he will have a chance to do it against Atlanta’s #25th ranked defense. Wilson seems to be healthy at this time after being banged up earlier in the season, and it is hard to rule the Seahawks out when Wilson is at the top of his game.
One x-factor in this one could be playoff experience, as the Falcons are making their first post-season appearance in 3 years while the Seahawks have been fixture in the post-season for the last half decade.
Seahawks Visit Falcons
The two teams met in the regular season on October 16th and Seattle won a close one, 26-24 at home.
The over/under for this one is set at a high 51 1/2 but the offense-heavy way the two teams are configured for at this time make the over a very real possibility.
