Steelers Against Patriots in AFC Championship Sunday – The Pittsburgh Steelers head to Foxboro to take on the rival New England Patriots in this Sunday’s AFC Title game. The teams have met in the past and the match-up of QBs between Pitt’s Ben Roethlisberger and Pat signal corner Tom Brady is always a classic. Most recently the two teams met this past October, with the Patriots taking a 27-16 win at Heinz Field in a game where Roethlisberger sat out.

The Steelers are coming off a slow bludgeoning of the Kansas City Chiefs last week in Kansas City where they used 6 field goals to fuel an 18-16 win. Meanwhile, the Patriots manhandled the Houston Texans 34-16 as expected.

Historically, the two QBs have a ton of Super Bowl starts between them so both are well aware of what is at stake. When they have met head to head both have put up big numbers and both have had good performances but it is Brady who holds a decided edge when faicng Pittsburgh, especially at home.

With that said, Brady was handed a front running team 4 games into the season, and the Patriots have faced little adversity in earning the #1 seed. Last week’s game against the weak Texans was not a true test, and Pittsburgh has been circling the wagons and playing battle tested throughout their current 9 game winning streak. Roethlisberger missed the first game with injury, and he returned to take charge. In the playoffs he has been his usual solid leader, limping around and making the Pittsburgh team tough by his very presence.
