Los Angeles Kings
Busy night in the National Hockey League and I’ve got three plays with one side and two totals:

COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS AT BUFFALO SABRES OCTOBER 27 2011 4:05 PM PACIFIC

Columbus is one of the worst scoring defenses in the NHL while Buffalo is one of the best. That notwithstanding, I expect the Sabres to play a relatively wide open game against a Blue Jackets team that finally got their first win of the season last time out against a struggling Detroit team. Jackets have some decent playmakers on offense, but the fact that the Wings only scored a single goal against them says more about Detroit’s issues than anything positive about C-Bus. Buffalo has gone Over in both home games this year, Columbus has gone Over in all four on the road this year. Last two games head to head have seen the teams combine for a total 14 goals. Sabres coming off a pair of losses in a home and home set with Tampa Bay and should get back in the win column here with a high scoring effort.

Bet Columbus/Buffalo Over 5′ -105

TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING AT NASHVILLE PREDATORS OCTOBER 27, 2011 5:05 PM PACIFIC

Tampa Bay got off to a dismal start this season but look to be regaining form after three straight wins. Nashville, meanwhile, is still mired in a serious downturn having lost five of six. As always, these teams are a contrast in styles—Tampa has a great offense and a porous defense, while Nashville has a solid defense and a sputtering offense. Overall I think Tampa is the better team and they’re definitely in better form.

Bet Tampa Bay Lightning -105 over Nashville Predators

LOS ANGELES KINGS AT DALLAS STARTS OCTOBER 27, 2011 5:35 PM PACIFIC

Both teams playing well and winning with defense. Kings are tied for the #1 scoring defense in the NHL, Dallas is #4. In 17 total games for the Kings and Stars this season they’ve played a total of 3 games OV against 12 UN and 2 push. The defensive tendencies of these two teams are reflected in the price and total, but goals will be at a serious premium here.

Bet Los Angeles/Dallas Under 5 -120
