Thoughts on last night’s games.
Leafs hurting.
Leafs have been without Nylander this playoffs and it’s been a huge loss.
Nylander scored more points than everyone on Boston except for Pastrnak in regular season.
Nylander was a quarterback of leaf power play all season with his elite play making skills.
Nylander was a key in playoffs last year’s playoffs when he scored 10 points in 11 games.
Footnote that Marner is still not recovered from his high ankle injury from early April.
Marner, at his best, is among best playmakers in the league.
Jack Eichel has elite offensive skills.
In last years playoffs he led all players in assists, 20, and points, 26.
He is picking up this year where he left off, already with 4 points in 2 games.
Vegas defence is mature, confident and big. They will be stingy with scoring chances.
Dallas are sputtering offensively against VGK after registering the third highest goal differential in the league’s regular season.
It looks like it’s time for Logan Thompson to get some respect.
He was the VGK workhorse this year between the pipes while posting a GAA of a very solid 2.70.
Early in these playoffs, but his GAA is 2.00.
Oilers defence never got the memo.
When you have an explosive offence led by McDavid, Draisitl and Hyman, you should think about just playing solid defence.
It boggles the mind why Bouchard and Nurse are always caught out of position.
Last night they allowed too many chances for Kings and Nurse allowing Kopitar to sneak behind him and score the overtime winner.
It’s just embarrassing and avoidable.
Oilers have a powerful offensive arsenal. If you’re a defender, concentrate on defence and let the scoring machine do what they do.
Makes no sense Darnell. Not too bright.
